Second Chance by Jane Green

Finished this book yesterday evening – I have read all Jane Green’s book, and this was the most disappointing. It started out with a promising premise – a group of old school friends meet again after around 20 years, and are all undergoing various stresses and strains in their lives, forcing them to reassess, while at the same time renewing their friendships of old.
However, the characterisation was not nearly as good as in some of her earlier books, the dialogue was clunky, and I found myself wanting to skip over some parts of the book, which I’ve never done before with a Jane Green.
However, every author’s entitled to have an ‘off’ book, so it won’t deter me from reading her new book, ‘The Beach House’. I do hope it’s better than this, though …
