Three (The Gallery)

Instead of Where In the World Wednesday this week, I decided to join in with The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers, whereby each week Tara gives a theme, and we post a photo in line with that theme.

So, this week’s theme is numbers – the title of the photo has to be number.

Mine is Three:

William, Sam & Sophie running along the beach at sunset.

This isn’t the best photo in the world technically, but it just seems to depict the joy of childhood to me.  And it makes me smile every time I look at it.

    • There’s something quite emotional, almost, about the figures being silhouettes, isn’t there? Dunno why, though …

    • It was luck rather than judgement, I’m afraid, Nova – I’m strictly a point and press girl when it comes to photography!

  1. I love this photograph. It makes me wonder if it is really typical of your children to be in this order – eldest up front leading the way, middle one chasing and littlest will just turn round half way along the run to chase them in the opposite direction as they run back past her? Gorgeous, makes you want to jump in with them.

    • Should prob point out that only the biggest is mine – the other two are his cousins. They get on so well together, though – and Sophie doesn’t always get left behind at the back – in fact she’s such a feisty little madam, she’s often leading the way!

  2. And there you’ve hit the purpose of this Gallery on the head: it’s not about technically brilliant photos, it’s about photos which MEAN something, which speak to you.
And the joy of childhood that photo certainly depicts. Thanks so much for joining in. x

    • Thank you, Tara, looking forward to participating more regularly – what a great idea of yours x

  3. Hello Caroline
Have to agree – its a ‘happy’ photo – just by looking at it makes you feel like you are there enjoying the fun as well

    • Thank you, Cathy. I’ve got a copy of this one on my office wall ,and I often glance up at it and smile

  4. I hope you realise that if this situation is repeated again this year Sophie will just stand still and stamp her feet screaming if the boys don’t wait for her!!!
